Augenstein-in-Progress

Published by Brillig under Blogginess

So, right now, Mara is in a big fat mess.  A passionate and profoundly talented violinist, she’s had to go into hiding, giving up music for good.  Though she’s only 17, her new birth certificate with someone else’s name on it indicates that she’s 20 years old.  She’s lost three years of her youth, and is suddenly forced to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life–without music.  While recklessly snooping, she uncovers a huge secret:  an original Augenstein violin, confiscated from Nathan Augenstein during WWII by Nazis, worth millions of dollars, is sitting right there in her apartment complex.  She asks too many questions, thus putting herself in danger of being found by those who are hunting her down.

Oh, and she’s kissing the wrong guy.

And I couldn’t be more thrilled.

I’m currently at about 28,000 words.  Before I go to bed tonight, I hope to be closer to 31,000.  While the minimum goal for most NaNoWriMo-ers is 1600/day, I’ve upped mine to 3000/day since I don’t write on Sunday and also because I want to finish 50,000 before I head to Utah for Thanksgiving.  These goals, for the record, seem completely impossible.  But that ain’t gonna stop me from tryin’, no-sirree.

I just wanted to let you all know that I miss you.  A lot.  I find that I’m concocting blog posts in my head all day.  Soon I’ll be back to reading your posts and writing my own.  For now, thanks for your kind thoughts and your immense patience.  I can’t believe what an amazing support system you’ve all been for me as I try my hand at something I’ve always wanted to do, but that is so far outside my comfort zone!
