Bringing Twas Brillig Back From The Dead

Published by Brillig at 9:59 am under Blogginess

Okay, people. I’m OBVIOUSLY having a very hard time blogging these days. And it’s sadly quiet around here. And I miss you. So I’ve decided to do something that only big-name bloggers (who I, unfortunately, am not) do. Yup, that’s right. I’m a wannabe (and all the girlies say I’m pretty fly for a white guy). But I thought it would be fun to have guest bloggers.

So, if you wanna blog here on my blog, please let me know. I’d absolutely love it. The rules are super lenient— you can write about whatever you want to (with a few exceptions… like, nothing that starts out with “Why I Hate Mormons” or, really, why you hate anyone) and nothing with profanity or vulgarity. If you use naughty words, I WILL substitute them with something else… which could be kinda funny. I’m just giving you advanced warning.

Also, your post can be something cross-posted from your blog, or it can be something from your archives, or it can be completely original for the occasion. See? I’m SO easy-going. :-D

I figure this would be good for all of us. I’ll be happy, because my blog won’t be sitting here dead. You’ll be happy, because your post will link back to your blog (if you have one) and you will probably meet some fun new readers (seriously, my readers are the coolest). Basically, everyone wins.

I don’t know how long we’ll do this—it depends on how many people want to guest-blog, and it depends on how long it takes for me to actually GET OUT OF LIMBO!

So! If you’re interested, lemme know!

***ETA:  We’ve reached our guest-blog capacity!  Thanks to all who volunteered!

I’d love to do this, if you’ll have me (I know, I’m a pretty new reader). And I’ll propose a trade: when you find your blogging mojo again (or just come inside from enjoying the sunshine), you can bring your thinky on over to my place for a guest post. New readers, fun trade, all that stuff…

  3. canadianflakeon 22 May 2008 at 10:26 am

I have been checking on you regularly. Hope plans for the move are going well. I would certainly be happy to guest host if you would like. Just let me know when (and what to do because I am a blogger bonehead..lol).

    Take care

  4. Annetteon 22 May 2008 at 10:35 am

Count me in. I’d love to be a Brillig Blogger. :)

  5. Jenon 22 May 2008 at 10:37 am

I’d love to do a guest post if you’ll have me. I promise not to use any of the words that I was using while trying out my WiiFit last night.

  6. lilacspecson 22 May 2008 at 11:07 am

    Ooh, ooh, me, MEEEEE!

Seriously, lately I find myself slapping my wrist to keep from having more than one post over at my place per day. And sometimes I just give up, write them and post-date them. I really really would enjoy a place to write!

  7. Wendyon 22 May 2008 at 11:22 am

I’d be glad to help you out and guest post! I totally get the blog funk feeling. Just let me know.

  8. Kimberlyon 22 May 2008 at 1:40 pm

Anything to help our dear Brilly-Brill. Getting into a funk is so…umm…funky? You can call on me anytime, ‘kay?

  9. charretteon 22 May 2008 at 1:59 pm

Yes, count me in! I LOVE this idea!
And if it keeps you sane, all the better….

But we totally miss hearing from you and can’t wait until the REAL Brillig is back in full form.

    I’m off to my hoity-toity tea now…. ;-D

  10. charretteon 22 May 2008 at 2:00 pm

p.s. SOOO tempted to include some profanity, just to see what you’ll substitute! :)

  11. Alison Wonderlandon 22 May 2008 at 3:56 pm

I don’t even have time to post on my own these days. Sorry, I can’t help you but I’ll read whatever you post. Looks like you have plently of volunteers without me anyway.

  12. Shellieon 22 May 2008 at 5:57 pm

I”m finding it hard to fit in writing too, but you can borrow any post I’ve got! Hope the move goes smooth.

Hi, I’ve been reading for a while but not really commenting. So you don’t know me, but I think you’re super awesome! I just started a new blog ’cause my old one was lame and not anonymous anymore. So now I have a new one that is anonymous and still lame. Yay! :) Anyhow, it would be an honor to guest-blog for you–I’ve been spending a lot of bloggy time trying to get my new blog up and running (you can see it has a whole *2* posts!), so a break from that would be nice.

I even have a cool idea for a post I’ve been meaning to write for a while anyway. I think you’d like it.

I’d be happy to join in, too. Anything that gets you back here (once you have time and a little less craziness in your life, that is).

  15. Jo Beaufoixon 23 May 2008 at 7:49 am

Oh me, I’d like to play, if you’ll have me, if it will help. Hope the move is going smoothly and that your little monkeys are doing ok.

i volunteered! i wrote a funny post! where i said that i would come hang out if you would come hang out in the fall when i am welcoming my best friend home from his mission with a big fat list of things to do that DON’T involve blogging…but it’s gone.

listen, brillig, if you don’t want me posting comments, you can just tell me. you don’t have to go all stealthy and arrange for the computer to eat them all!

i joke. i gots the jokes! but fo sho…i’m here if you need me to be. haven’t a clue what to write, but my life is one big comedy of errors, so…there’s got to be something!

  17. Jillon 23 May 2008 at 4:01 pm

    Sounds like fun!
I could write stuff on your blog that I wouldn’t write on my own, because my kids read my blog.
You know, stuff like where Santa hides the toys.
This could work out quite well for SOS!

  18. AbsolutelyBananason 23 May 2008 at 7:03 pm

I’ll do it! It’d be a good chance to write about the stuff that I CAN’T write about on my blog…. you know, because everyone in my family reads it! ;)

  19. Jessica G.on 23 May 2008 at 9:10 pm

Well, I’m not nearly good enough to guest blog for you but hey, I’m just glad that you are still around…been worried about ya.

  20. Bernhardon 24 May 2008 at 6:50 am

Here well arranged and varied posts appear again and again. I look gladly here past. Many greetings from the center of Germany!

  21. Karleneon 24 May 2008 at 1:13 pm

Well, hey. You’ve got so many volunteers, but I’d be glad to do a guest blog. Just need a topic idea….hmmm…

  22. Karleneon 24 May 2008 at 1:14 pm

[I hit return when I meant to make a smiley.]

Hope packing and moving and all of that is going better for you. Wish I were a strong Amazon woman with muscles and energy. In my mind, I’d be over there to help you in a heartbeat. In reality, I’m sending you good wishes.

  23. Novembranceon 25 May 2008 at 4:56 pm

Brilliant idea! This will be fun.

  24. Cherylon 25 May 2008 at 5:44 pm

Guest blogging would be fun if you still need someone. I’ll be moving cross-country this summer (hopefully) so I can SO relate to the topsy-turvyness that you’re experiencing right now.

  25. Anna at Hank and WIllieon 26 May 2008 at 3:47 am

Would love it! Would love to hear from you, too, but count me in if you want some guest posts. There is something very freeing about writing for someone else.

  26. Butrfly Gardenon 26 May 2008 at 1:40 pm

If I could get myself to post on my own blog, I’d jump up in a second to help you.

But I’m doing far worse than you are! :)

Want to know the saddest part? I still have just as many hits a day as I used to. But instead of friends, they’re all image searches. (And STILL searches for lady doc stories. Blech.)

  27. Gunfighteron 27 May 2008 at 4:29 am

    Hiya Brill,

I’m game, if you’ll have me.

I promise to play nice… in my unique, Gunfighter way. Which means I won’t shoot anyone in the writing of any posts.

  28. Scott Hindson 27 May 2008 at 4:53 am

I don’t want to guest blog on your site as I just started my own, but I actually hopped onto your site from a link on Alltop.com and was piqued by the title, which reminded me of Louis Carrol’s Jabberwocky!

    Cheers.
