I’m here!! I’m here!!

Published by Brillig at 1:07 pm under Blogginess

1. Ummmm, apparently I’m writing this post in list form.

2. I haven’t been posting because, see, Kate’s birthday was on Monday and whenever one of Kate’s friends has a birthday, she goes all out and posts billions of embarrassing pics of that friend. (Her post for my birthday is here. See? Ruthless, and yet so loving!) And I wanted to get her back, and I didn’t want to post anything else until I did. But the ol’ scanner decided to rebel and I can’t seem to get those jewels to work. So I have officially given up. Kate is saved from total humiliation this year. But believe me, I’m already working on next year’s…

3. Even though I didn’t celebrate Kate’s birthday in bloggy style, I DID celebrate with her in person! She came up from Arizona and we partied like it was 1999. Well… not quite… but I went out to dinner with Hannah, Jewels, Sara, Rhonda, and, of course, the birthday girl herself. We had an absolute blast together. Seriously, my girlies are some of the funniest people on the planet. It was great to be all together.

4. I also sorta skipped posting about my anniversary. I had this big idea that I’d post wedding pictures and tell you all about The Hubster and how he still makes me feel all giddy and bubbly. Um…. yeah. That didn’t happen. The post that is. The giddy and bubbly happens all the time.

5. I cannot, CANNOT believe I haven’t posted about this yet, but fortunately pretty much everyone else on the planet has, so this probably isn’t a newsflash… See, SMID is doing this thing. This really cool thing. She’s setting aside a day (Jan. 10—this coming Thurs.) for reading. You know, reading, like BOOKS, not blogs. It’s an absolutely brilliant plan and I encourage everyone to join in. You can find out all about it here. Let it be known that as for me and my blog, we will be participating. Thanks, SMID, for such a cool project.

6. I can’t stop drinking Spicy V8. I’m a total addict. It’s insane. I’m on my second 48 oz. bottle of the day. And it’s not even lunch time yet…

7. Trying to get my little Fuzzles some medical/psychological help has become an absolute circus. I feel like I spend my whole life on the phone, tracking down the people who are supposed to be helping us with all of this. Everyone I talk to acts alarmed and extremely concerned when I describe his symptoms—like it’s URGENT that we get him in for therapy and evaluations. And then? Silence. It’s so aggravating. SOMEONE CALL ME BACK! SCHEDULE HIM FOR AN APPOINTMENT! SOMEONE ACT LIKE THEY FRICKIN’ BRACKIN’ GIVE A CRAP!!!!!!!! THIS IS MY BABY WE’RE TALKING ABOUT! A HUMAN BEING WHO DESERVES THE CHANCE TO LIVE A DECENT LIFE!!!!!!!!!

/end rant

(And no, thanks, I don’t need the pep talk about hounding them and being aggressive, etc… I’m on it.)

8. I’m bleaching my hair. No, not blonde (AAAKKKKH! Blonde and Brillig, um, don’t work together, as some of you remember…) but just lighter and warmer. I saw some fashion expert say that warm, rich, golden brown is “in” right now, so I’ve decided to try it. It might be a total train wreck. It might also encourage my hair to catch on fire and fall out… Oh wait…

9. Soap Opera Sunday will be held here this weekend, at its birthplace.  Bring your sudsy tales and let’s have some fun!  (Find out more about this here.)

10. Love you all. Thanks for not giving up on me.

StumbleUpon It!

Will never give up on you, love you too much. So great to get caught up a bit on what’s been going on with you. I’ve missed you and am soooo frickin’ brackin’ proud of myself for not harrassing you with emails and chat invites this past while. It took remarkable restraint, it really did. Toodling over to SMID now. And am praying for Fuzzles daily with Emma. I showed her a picture of him and she always says in a super dramatic voice, “Awww….he’s so CUTE!” She’s quite smitten. Hope you get answers soon. Uncertainty bites the big one. ~hugs~

Hey, Hi! Nice to see you again!

  3. Annieon 04 Jan 2008 at 3:42 pm

Been there done that so many times with #7 - I just said to someone today - it reminds me of being at work - on the phone constantly, chasing people up for answers, being shuffled from pillar to post and all that ‘hold’ music!

Ugh - I feel your pain.

Hope the mists clear and you get some appts soon.

    Take care

    Hang in there, crazy lady!

  5. Worker Mommyon 04 Jan 2008 at 5:37 pm

Oh Dear Brillig - Don’t worry… I can’t seem to get it together to post much these days either.

Crazy , it used to be that life was put on hold for blogging but now life has kind of pushed it’s way back up front.

    so I feel ya!

I’ll send you some good appointment booking juju, left over from our trek to the pediatrician in December - here’s hoping you finally get to see someone and get some answers.

Large love to you all -

I think the warm brown hair is just what you need and Hubby will love it. Glad to see you back and wishing you the best at getting answers for Fuzzle. (((HUGS)))

I’m sure the 365 day wait for embarrassment will be fine! It was so wonderful to see you and I can’t wait to see pics of the fab hair!

    1. Lists are fun. And organized. I love ‘organized.’
    2. That would have been GREAT. :D
    3. (Heard about the Sprite. Glad you had a great time!)
    4. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!
    5. That’s a great idea. But I don’t think I’m ready to commit to posting yet.
    6. Spicy V8 makes great stuffed peppers. Just don’t drink so much you turn orange and you’ll be fine.
    7. I’m praying for you guys.
    8. I’ve been really thinking about doing the same thing. But then my mom pointed out that my blonde highlights finally came back - it’s been YEARS since I dyed my hair.
    9. I love your soapy tales.
    10. Love you, too!

Glad to hear things are going well. :-) Except for the doctors. I have a feeling you are the best person for the job, getting Fuzzles help.

    Have a great day.

    xo,
    SM

You are on it, Brill. I am not worried in the least.
I have that warm brown thing going on with my hair right now too. I love the boy who did it for me. For real, I proposed to him on the spot, I was so thrilled. But of all the sad things in this world, he is no longer living here in Holland and therefore cannot work his magic with my locks again. I am not real happy about that, but there are worse things I suppose.
You know I love you madly, deeply, dearly.

Quite a list! My prayer is for someone soon setting up appointments and getting you answers–and Fuzzles any help needed.

Hang in there–and know you’ve got backup, just let me know what I can do, including an ear to bend when you need to talk.

  13. jenn in hollandon 05 Jan 2008 at 12:17 pm

I meant to comment on some of the other things from your list and not make it look as if I only read the bottom portion of your post. But let’s be honest, my attention span is short and it could be that I just forgot what was on the top half.
OR it could be that Andrew needed something to eat, you can choose which you believe.
But what I wanted to say was LUCKY! (in NAPOLEON DYNAMITE style) Lucky all you girls for getting to hang out together! Good times.
Happy Belated to Miss Kate too. I do wish your scanner was working so we could see the goods. Next year for certain, please.
Happy versary to you too. And happy feeling bubbly and gooey…

    Mwah!

    Hiya Brill!

  15. annoon 06 Jan 2008 at 2:35 pm

Good luck with the medical establishment — things sometimes fall into place when you least expect it. I hope you will be happily surprised. Fuzzles is adorable. Best to you in the new year!

  16. Goofballon 06 Jan 2008 at 3:14 pm

good to see you back! Good to have SOS back as well…now if only I found some inspiration, then I could play again.

  17. milpitas kangoon 06 Jan 2008 at 6:39 pm

Wow, you have a lot going on!

There is nothing like getting together with old girlfriends. I have a group of 4 and we live all over the country…..it is so important to me that we make the effort to get together. Glad you had a good time!

  18. Annetteon 06 Jan 2008 at 7:03 pm

Quite a list–you’ve been busy! Luv ya, girl!

  19. VirtualSpriteon 07 Jan 2008 at 8:45 am

Wow… that’s a lot of stuff going on. Glad you guys got to party in person! That’s so much better than a virtual party any day.

Hope all the bad stuff can get resolved. It sucks when medical professionals don’t take you seriously. You know your kid and you know something is wrong, so why don’t they always treat you like a hysterical mother and then ignore you? Grrr.

  20. Jo Beaufoixon 10 Jan 2008 at 1:53 pm

Hi sweetie. Glad you’re doing ok. No pep talk. Just sending love.

  21. canadianflakeon 12 Jan 2008 at 6:36 pm

it surely is frustrating when your baby needs help and no one wants to get off their rump to do anything…totally “been there, done that and bought the t-shirt ”

While our issues aren’t life threatening…they are frustrating..and threaten the quality of life my gremlins will have…so I pray….HARD!!!!!!!!
