I Promised You a Soap Opera

Published by Brillig at 11:27 pm under Blogginess

But I cannot deliver. I suck at SOS—and I created it! (The Mr. Linky with all the SOS links is BELOW this post, for those of you who are here looking for it.)

Allow me to explain. No, there is too much. Allow me to sum up.

1. My bed is in my living room.

2. My couch is in my bedroom.

3. My husband is sleeping in my study (and no, not because we’re fighting. Hahahaha).

4. I stayed home from church today because Fuzzles is… SICK. I know. Big shocker there, huh. You’re more surprised when I say he’s NOT sick, aren’t you?

5. Scooby is also sick, apparently.

6. I feel like I haven’t slept in a million years. Seriously. The black circles under my eyes have taken over my whole face.

7. I haven’t read most of the Soap Opera Sunday links from last week OR the week before, let alone today’s. I’m so behind on my emails. And I’m a crappy blog-friend. The worst part is that I really miss you, my friends. I’ve become addicted to your blogs, and I’m going through withdrawals without them. I’m literally praying for time to catch up. You are all so important to me, which may sound silly because I don’t “know” any of you. However, I bet that in many cases I actually know you better than the people who know you in real life and spend actual face-to-face time with you.

8. I have to go to bed now. I HAVE to. Often, when given the option between sleep and blogging, I choose blogging. Right now my body is shutting down. And if I don’t take the few minutes I’m being granted right now for sleep, who knows when my next opportunity for sleep will arrive? Please understand. :-D We’ll have more of the opera saga soon, and the Conceitrio SOS will be continued next weekend.

9. You guys are the greatest for putting up with me. Thank you. I love you. For reals!

StumbleUpon It!

i don’t know Darlin’, but it sounds like a “soap opera” to me!! Or at least one in the making! Hang in there and just know that when it is all over you will have a lovely, witty SOS post that we can all laugh over, exclaim our sympathy, shake our heads in amazement at how you got through it, and admire you even more that you did it right under our noses and we had only small clues about what was going on! I’m not sure, but I think the cosmos is taking one of those really suckky detours that gets everything all screwed up and the people that deserve a break just get more bad news and the people that deserve a kick in the pants win the lottery! It will all get evened out and justice will be served when everything is back on track. We just have to hang on with whatever little strength and fortitude we have left and hope/pray/know…”It WILL get better!”

In the meantime hugs to you and maybe you take some small comfort in the fact that I fell better knowing I’m not the only one needing desperately to hide my head under the covers and not getting the opportunity!

We still love you! I hope all your sick family members get well soon and I hope you are currently sound asleep!

Rest easy, Brilly girl. You know we’ll be here for you when next you rise and conquer!
Hugs to baby especially and to you.

I hope it turns around for you quickly. Get some sleep. And mark all my entries as read.

Honey, there’s no pressure here. We’re (mostly) patient. I hope you and the family are feeling better soon!

Let me help! Send Fluffy and Bubba over! (Bubba is my favorite neighborhood kid–don’t tell anyone…)

  8. moosh in indy.on 26 Nov 2007 at 9:14 am

That’s just as much of a soap opera as anyone else is coming up with.
“These are the days of no sleep”
    (cue cheesy music)

  9. Jerseygirl89on 26 Nov 2007 at 9:50 am

Oh hon, don’t worry about any of it. We’ve all been there (okay, well, I’ve never had my couch in my bedroom, but I can imagine) so just worry about taking care of yourself and your kiddos, okay?

  10. canadianflakeon 26 Nov 2007 at 9:57 am

Just know that you are missed when you are gone….but don’t worry because you are ALWAYS worth the wait. I hope everyone there is feeling better soon. I remember how it felt when my gremlins were always sick…they didn’t get past it until they got their tonsils out.

    Hang in there…

I agree, this sounded like the makings of an sos event to me. I have no idea what all is going on in your household, but my prayers are with you for strength, rest, peace of mind, and healing for all the areas it’s needed!

Take care of you and yours, and we’ll all be here when you’re ready to return.

Thanks for creating SOS, this was my first week to participate, and I had a ball.

    Blessings to you.

You guys have had enough sick compressed into this one year to span a lifetime. Ugh. Can’t imagine how worn out you are, but as always, sure wish I lived closer. Family first, babe. Family first. Scrap all that guilt and worry over us if you can, okay? The ones that love you most want you to sleep. ~hugs~

  13. VirtualSpriteon 26 Nov 2007 at 11:07 am

Oh, no.. I hope everyone starts to feel better soon. It’s rough when everyone is sick. Really rough.

I’ve been an absentee blogger, too, so I will not cast stones. We all love you and will wait patiently for your next post. Get some rest.

  14. lady macleodon 26 Nov 2007 at 12:27 pm

    Rest well.

  15. Worker Mommyon 26 Nov 2007 at 12:49 pm

Glad you have a wonderful turkey day and glad you allowed yourself some time for …well you.

Sometimes you just gotta do it!

    Smooches!

Of course that first comment had me curious because, well , because I’m just downright nosy. Upon clicking on the link I was led to an adult sex toy site.

First I must say that they individual clearly doesn’t read your blog if he/she thinks they are going to get your to review sex toys here. (such is the problem with many of the pr hacks …)

    Secondly, bwahahahahahahahaha

Thirdly, wow, I wish I wouldn’t have clicked on the link while at work.

Fourthly (is that a word?), who cares if I get fired, it was worth the laugh alone.

Get some sleep, come back when you can, and you did give us the soap opera of illness at the Brillig place. At least you weren’t visited by toves. They can be nasty…

  18. Annetteon 26 Nov 2007 at 2:23 pm

As much as we all love blogging, SLEEP much reign supreme. Nap on, woman!

  19. Tristi Pinkstonon 26 Nov 2007 at 2:44 pm

My computer is in my living room, but that’s the only weird furniture arranging thing I’ve got going on.

Get some sleep, Brilly! We miss you when you’re not around but dang it, take care of yourself. What would we do if you got sick too and had to leave us for longer?

  20. melissaon 26 Nov 2007 at 4:08 pm

i hope everyone feels better…soon! we just got over major bouts of sickness, in my house. it’s so yucky, especially when the mom doesn’t feel well and is still having to take care of the kids…so, sleep while you can. and, take care of yourself!

  21. LawyerMamaon 26 Nov 2007 at 4:47 pm

Ack! I hope you’ve gotten some sleep!

  22. jenniferon 26 Nov 2007 at 6:52 pm

here’s a cyber hug from me- how I empathize!

  23. Aliceon 27 Nov 2007 at 5:56 pm

Don’t worry about offending me. Take some time for yourself. Get that much needed rest. I think I can speak for all (or many) of us when I say we want you to relax and not fuss with our blogs (yours is much better than mine anyway). I have missed you though! Sundays are not the same without you.

It’s been so long since I’ve commented on blogs, I have to retype all my info. Today I have tried to turn blogspot into an email, enter my email as my website, and enter my blogger password as my website. I feel … lost a little.

    :D

I truly admire that you are keeping up with your blogging for NoBloMoFo. Soon it will be December. LIKE, IN TWO DAYS!

And my Christmas gift to you, my dear….A DAY OFF. I DEMAND IT. In fact, take a couple. You deserve them TREMENDOUSLY!

    ;)
