I began playing violin in sixth grade--and rather got hooked on symphonies, which one thing leads to another in the music world . . .

And my goodness, now I have to wait for part two LOL--I'll be back!

If you like opera, you'll love listening to the YouTube on my blog. Scroll down a little way. It's Paul Potts, the Welsh singer who won Britain's Got Talent this year. What a fabulous voice. I ordered the CD off Amazon and it came already. Have to keep playing it. Wonderful!

Oh, I came so late to the opera game. As in 3X as old as you were. Shame on me...
And yet another reason to respect and admire you so.

I started really liking classical music about a year and a half ago. Liking it to the point where I wanted to LEARN about it and not just listen to it to fall asleep.

So after a year and a half of really liking it, I can recognize certain pieces or sometimes even credit a song I don't know to a particular composer. But I still don't like telling people that I like classial because I'm scared they'll ask me something about it and make me look stupid. HAHAHA.

Anyway, I have found myself fond of a few opera pieces and it really makes me want to go see one. But getting the man to go to something like that would be a lost battle (a play, yes. a concert, sure! a play/concert in a language he doesn't understand..no fricken bracken way). When you come visit me (hehehe) we'll go to one, okay? And you can learn me all about it. :D

Opera is something I've never really taken the time to go see. I keep telling myself that I will but then it doesn't happen. Maybe this year at the music hall I will finally immerse myself in culture.

I love opera too, but not Italian. I find Verdi and Puccini utterly tedious. (I know... I'm a snob.)

Ironically, my toddler loves opera, too. I can't wait to read the rest of the story.

I love the opera. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in my family who does, so I have to listen in secret. ;-)
