Conversations With My Manly-Man

As we’re sitting in our bedroom I reach for the remote control to turn the TV on.

Hubby: Don’t you ever just wanna talk? Instead of watching TV? Can’t we just talk?

Brillig: We can talk with the TV on, though, right?

Hubby: Wouldn’t it be nice to just talk though?

And then, he suddenly buries his face in his hands and says,

Hubby: Oh my gosh! I’m the WOMAN in our relationship!!!!

    Oh boy, this happens at our house too - “why don’t you ever just want to hang out with me?” If only we could coordinate so that the urge to talk and paint toenails happened on the same night…

    Have you even been to Nauvoo??? We went on the way home from my mom’s funeral. It was awesome!!! I am just curious.

    I am a convert and your blog is truly an inspiration to me. I have been struggling but this is great to see others. We live in an elderly ward and there are literally no kids so it is a struggle for us here.

    Awww, poor fellow–hope you talked to him after that LOL.

    I’ve been married since 1970, and we’ve not run out of conversation yet. From our first dates, we chatted about everything for hours.

    Of course, now we’ve been together so long, and heard the same stories over and over, that he can tell my stories, and I can tell his stories LOL. Probably time to put a TV in the bedroom, eh? (heheheeheehee . . .)
