Gone Bananas

I’s time for the Perfect Post Award, sponsored by Petroville and Suburban Turmoil. Yes, this dynamic duo brings us the opportunity to announce which post spoke to us most during the previous month. And what does our awardee receive? Why, this lovely little blog-bling, of course:

And so, without further ado, I bestow this award upon one of my very favoritest bloggers, Jenny from Absolutely Bananas for her post, Get Out of My Yard.

In this post, Jenny (or Bananas, as she’s now referring to herself) discusses what happens when

A homeless man passes out on her front yard for an extended period of time
said homeless man doesn’t stir when she tries to wake him, and
she is praised for her compassion–when she hadn’t felt compassionate.

I’ve nominated this post not just because it’s fantastically written, as is everything that woman touches, but also because it was haunting. I kept thinking about it and mulling it over in my head and wondering what I would do if faced with the same situation.

So, go, read. You’ll be glad you did. This Bananas woman has such an outstanding talent for humor and poignancy all at once. She’s a rising star in Bloglandia–hopefully she’ll remember us little people when she reaches the top.
