Blue Fuzzle Meme Links
Yeah… hi. Brillig is a bit scatterbrained… So, in absolutely no coherent fashion, I bring you all the things I’ve been meaning to tell you.
———————-
1. Hubby is a professional web dude. Design is one of the many things that he’s brilliant at. And it just so happens that he believes that all well-designed sites have one thing in common: blue. Because he knows these things, and I DON’T, I’ve been trying to follow his advice.
Today I’ve been tinkering with my site. It’s… um… not blue.
I tried to go blue. Really I did. But see that banner thing? Well, I made it several months back. And I’m quite proud of it. I feel like it really represents me. But, it’s not blue. And putting blue with it just looks all wrong. So, no blue. Rather, the colors now look a lot like any house built in the 70’s. Yellows and browns.
Fine. So I probably won’t win any design awards. Still, it’s feeling a little more like me around here.

2. Little Fuzzles is doing very well. Thanks for all the love in regards to that. Remember how last week I had the stomach flu? Well, Fuzzles got it too. Bad. Then on Friday I went to wake him up, only to discover that he was already awake–at least his eyes were open. But they were hollow and expressionless. His little body lay limp in his little crib. I couldn’t get him to react at all. Obviously, it was a bit alarming. My baby is bouncy, smiley, energetic, and always willing to scream his head off if given the opportunity. This little person in this crib was a total stranger.
Then I went to change his diaper (which he’d worn all night) and discovered that it was completely dry. No pee. And when he cried, it wasn’t really a cry, but more like a little kitten’s meow. Enough to break his Momma’s heart, for sure.
So I took him to the doctor where he was examined and he had some blood drawn which proved that he was, indeed, in bad shape. So he was admitted to the hospital. Poor little darling. They poked and prodded and jabbed needles into him, trying to find veins, but with him being so little and so dehydrated, it was almost impossible. Again, no crying on his part. Just little meows. He just didn’t have the energy (or the tears) for crying. They hooked him up to an IV to rehydrate him and replace his electrolytes, etc.
We arrived at the hospital at 6pm on Friday and were able to go home at 3pm Saturday. You can imagine how lovely I looked after being there all night. Hahaha. And I’m STILL trying to recover from the exhaustion! But Fuzzles was doing great, so I was thrilled. He was peeing and crying and laughing and playing with toys and all those lovely things that healthy babies do.

3. Our first Communal Soap Opera Sunday was a huge hit. Thanks to all who participated! Be sure you check out all these incredible stories, from hilarious to tragic, heart wrenching to horrifying, we’ve got it all! And start thinking now about what you want to write this week!
————————–
4. Congratulations are in order for Butrfly and Virtual Sprite, both of whom have just become engaged to their long-time boyfriends. I’m SO EXCITED for you!!!!
—————————
5. Recently I have been tagged for many, many memes. I am always so honored to be thought of. So I hope this doesn’t hurt anyone’s feelings, but… um… I’m taking a meme-hiatus. Can we all still be friends? If you have a direct question you want to ask me, I’m happy to answer it. But no meme’s, okay?
————————–
6. I don’t exactly have a blogroll these days. But I’m all about linky love. Did you notice that every time you comment, you get a link from me? Yeah, it’s part of the do-follow movement. It’s because I’m so loving, selfless, and concerned about your technorati rank. Also, because I’m not above bribing you to comment. To find out more, look here.
————————
7. And, finally, I’m not gonna be around much this week. This is crazy moving week. Gotta get everything out and the final touches cleaned up by this weekend. Again, I’m ECSTATIC that the frickin’ brackin’ house finally sold. But it DOES mean a lot of work on my part.
So, let the craziness begin.
———————–
And that, my dear Gentle Readers, is all.

Well, it sounds like you have been busy!
No offense to your professional husband, but if all the websites were blue it would be a boring world. I like your look. My main blog has browns on it too, because that is what goes with chocolate…blue would just clash.
Glad Fuzzles is doing better, and glad your house sold!
——–
mmmmmmm, chocolate. Your site always makes me hungry…
Scary business with the baby - really scary! Glad he’s on the mend
——–
Thanks, Annie!
I can relate about having to spend a night in hospital. It’s not very nice and on top of being worried about your child, it’s not very comfortable, and it’s bloody boring. I’d hate to have to do it a lot. Am glad your fuzzles is AOK.
————–
EXACTLY. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
So much to reply to:
1. no blue. None. I like you just the way you are.
2. sick babies are such a scary thing to deal with. Yeah for the care you got and for getting him through it!!
3. I loved being part of the Communal Soap Opera (hey I used communal in my description - hmmmmm….). In fact I’ll be back!
4. Congrats on the engagements ladies.
5. I’m on a permanent meme hiatus. I don’t really like them. Unless they are an award. With a cute button.
6. Don’t worry about the blogroll.
7. GOOD LUCK!
——-
Ahhh, so you did use “communal”… I hereby give you full credit for it.
I bet you didn’t sleep a wink. I’m glad he’s ok though.
I like your browns. They suit you. I don’t have any blue either. I’m all about the pink, baby!
———-
I love your pink site
I got vicarious mama fear reading about you finding your baby so sick. I’m relieved he’s doing so much better now.
————
He is, thank you!
Oh no! I’m so sorry little Fuzzles was sick! How scary! I hope you both recover completely really soon!
I like the brown better too. The blue just wasn’t doing it for me!
———-
Thanks, we’re almost there! And yeah, the brown is definitely more me.
I’m glad Fuzzles is okay. I was frightened just reading about it. What is it once we become parents that stories about sick children tear at our hearts?
————
There really is something to that. We all feel each other’s pain and fear, don’t we.
Like the no blue.
Such a scary thing to go through with Fuzzles.
Hi.
———
Hahaha. Hi back atcha. And welcome!
I also love your colors the way they are. Maybe your hubby is right for a different type of site, but I find your colors warm and inviting. Of course while I like bright and shiny things, browns are the main colors on my blog so maybe I am biased.
Glad the little one is doing so much better - those symptoms would have alarmed the crap out of me too!
—————
Thanks! Your site is beautiful, so I’m feeling good about myself again. Haha.
So glad to hear that Fuzzles is okay! So scary with little ones.
I’m with you on the no blue. I think business-type websites do well with blue, but it’s too sterile of a color for me.
My blog and my website are more in the browns end, too, and I have no earthly urge to add blue.
———–
No earthly urge? Come on, Annette. Just a little blue. Just a little? Hahaha. No, you’re right. I’ve seen some people do blue really well, but I’m not one of them. I couldn’t get it to work!
I love the colours you’ve chosen for you blog - simply love them.
My heart skipped a beat or two, just reading the account of what Fuzzles went through. He’s such a sweet little guy. How hard that must have been. Glad he recovered so quickly.
I’ve already written my next SOS post. Can’t wait!
———-
I love you for spelling it “colours”. And I love you for having written your SOS post this far in advance!!!
Glad Little Fuzzles is feeling better. I think I have almost no blue on my site. Doesn’t seem to be hurting me.
———
No, it does not seem to be hurting you one bit!
Good God, I have no idea what you’re talking about. I am sooooooooooooooo not in that linky world.
I’m glad to hear that the baby is doing well.
1. Love your colors! Tell hubby that in the “Marketing World” where I have spent some time working, the rule is that if you want to stand out, you should be different. While blue is nice, it is also “cold”. Brown has more of the warm fuzzy feeling we associate with you dear Brillig so stick to your guns!
2. Poor Fuzzles. I am so glad he’s better. Poor you and hubby. Nothing more frightening than a baby in a hospital.
3. Am loving SOS and having a real cathartic experience in writing my bit!
4. Congrats ladies. Young love is so grand!
5. Not a real meme fan either, but participate in the ones I choose and simply refuse to tag leaving the option open for volunteers!
6. Am in the process of learning about blogrolls and other elements. Thanks for the link you put in this, led me to some info I was looking for. And muechos gracias for all the links you have provided me.
7. Have fun (hah hah!) Don’t wear yourself out, good luck and see you Sunday!
For the record, I know lots of award winning sites that are not blue
I like your site the way it is.
Good luck moving and even though I know you’re swamped, do you have some time to play with me this weekend? Maybe?? Call me when you can and we’ll discuss.
love you!
Man, you brought back many bad memories with the baby scare. We’ve had to take two to ER to get them re-hydrated. It’s scary when they are like that.
I’ll think about forgiving you on the meme. . .
Ok. Done!
Good luck this week. Moving stinks!
1) I’m missing the blue, too! I wonder if my blog is too pink sometimes, but I spent a lot of time working on that background and I don’t have the time or energy to do another (”Memeland’s” background was an attempt, but not good enough to replace the first). And I love your colors and TOTALLY love the header
2) I wanted to cry just reading your description of how sick he was…SOOOO glad he’s feeling better!!
3) SOS was great…I haven’t had a chance to read them all yet, but I will in time.
4) Thanks again! That’s absolutely insane that VS got engaged at Lake Superior as well!! JUST. INSANE.
5-7) Love ya anyway! (even tho I didn’t tag you, but I’ve been hanging on to one that I need to do, too).
What a scary experience with the sick baby! I’m so glad little fuzzles is feeling better. You were so smart to take him in right away.
I am so glad your Fuzzles is back to peeing and being his fuzzly little self. Scary to find him like that in the crib.
Good luck on the FB house!! Be well, Brillig.
My favorite color is Blue but Snow White’s favorite color is Pink…so my blog is Pink. I am not looking for awards or to earn a living at blogging (my goodness we would starve), so what ever color my blog is does not matter to me. Snow White is tickled that it is Pink. Your blog colors and such do make me think of a comfy cozy family room with a really great picture (your header) hanging on the wall.
Yeah! Fuzzles is better!
I wish you the best of luck with the moving, clean-up and all that goes along with it. This brings back icky memories of my move last Fall. It felt like it took forever to get everything out of the old house into the new house. Clean up after the movers was far more than I had anticipated. While working in one state, half of my belongings in the new house, half in the old house and working full time in the new state. Well, you can imagine how much “free time” I had to clean up at the old house. It took me a week and then I gave up and paid someone else to clean the rest of the house. I hope you have much, much, much better luck than I did
Blue Schmue. I love your fabulous banner, and your site.
Poor, poor little Fuzzles. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, especially the part of watching your baby be poked and prodded and stuck with IV needles repeatedly. That is such a horrible experience. And the spending the night in the hospital… Oh, boy. Not fun. We’ve spent about 2 weeks total in the hospital with my Mashuga and that was quite an interesting experience. At one point I was doing my laundry and showering there. Good times.
Hooray for Soap Opera Sunday! You guys are too cool.
Last of all, I must say, we probably ought to move. Our location is not ideal for where hubby goes to work and kids go to school. But, the main thing that has kept us from moving is, um, the actual moving part. Boxes, trucks, scrubbing — just not ready to do that again for a while. Good luck! Hope it all goes smoothly.
i just finished commenting on goldy’s site about how impressed i was that he was declining memes.
yes!
let the meme truce begin!
(now if we can just figure out what to do with awards…)
~chesca
Hubs might be all guru in the business web design world but YOU are the queen here, and your queendom suits you perfectly! Don’t mess with it! No - not even that! I told you to leave it alone! (Sorry - parenthood momentarily took over.)
Moving sucks - plain and simple! NO ONE enjoys ripping out their roots and trying to transplant them. We moved 8 times in the first 10 years we were together, and I refuse to move again! It’s hard to get me to even go to another room sometimes … unless there’s chocolate or tequila involved in the move.
Finally, having gone through two long and painful and scary and boring hospital stays with my youngest, I can only say that I am SO very happy that Fuzzles is OK and that you guys aren’t at the hospital any more. Seeing your baby helpless in the hospital is the scariest thing there is! I’m so glad everyone’s OK now.
So glad Fuzzles is ok. That sounds so scary!
Hope you are able to get what you’d like accomplished with moving and come back to us relaxed , rested and full of good stories!
Jami, eight times in ten years! I’ve moved eight times in the past two years! And my boyfriend has never once said, “What the hell is wrong with you?”
I am so very full of glee that little Fuzzles is ok. I was worried.
Best wishes for all your tasks this week.
Teri - KEEP THAT BOYFRIEND!
I’m so glad to hear that your little one is doing better- how totally scary. I think he’s nearly the same age as my baby (10 months, right?), and I don’t want to think about her in that condition. Amazing what we can handle as mommas!
I’m going to shoot for SOS this weekend, so hopefully I’ll get a post up. Summer is crazy, so I just never know, especially at the end of the week/weekend if I’ll get a chance to post. And writing ahead would just be too tidy and organized for my current mode of operation.
What a relief that fuzzles is feeling fine.
I am so glad that fuzzles is feeling better. That must have been so scary. I really enjoyed writing for my 1st SOS and I am looking forward to doing it again. What did you end up doing with your piano???
oh my, I’m glad the baby is ok!! I have been on my share of hospital runs - not easy, I know. be well.
I tend to be partial to blue myself!
although, you banner is very pretty and if it’s “you”, that’s really all that matters!
Ix-nay on the ue-blay. Me likey the avocado/harvest gold colorway. And your awesome banner.
So glad Fuzzles is well again! We’ve had the no-pee thing around here once in a while; there’s not much that’s scarier than a dehydrated baby.
Good luck with all the transitional house stuff! And congratulations on the fact the the sale went through. Great news.
We’ll still all be here when you get back (hopefully before Sunday).
I love your colors AND your banner, and moving sucks but a new house is great, and a healthy baby is a huge relief. So glad to hear that Fuzzles is doing well. Looking forward to hearing more of your adventures after you’re settled in.
It’s good to hear that Fuzzles is doing better.
Oh, and I don’t have any blue on my blog either. I can’t remember ever having blue in my layout before..
Wonderful blog. I was sent by Fourier Analyst. She wants me to jump in on your Soap Opera Sundays. which I think are fantastic.
Glad your little one is better. It is always scary when they get sick.
1. I wanna be like your hubby when I grow up…and I’m even older than he is. Ug, that still sounds bad..
2. Oh, poor sweetie. I am so glad he is feeling better.
3. This time around I’ll participate. Summer is sucking the energy out of meeeeee.
4. weddings are wonderful
5. I’m always honored to be graciously bestowed upon..and thought of by someone for a tag, meme and or button. But I don’t like all the buttons, does this make me shallow or just more like a designer’s mind? (think NAB award..)
6. oh, that’s great fun. I like that movement!!
7. Hurry back and happy house sale!!! ~grins~
Recovery… that’s a great thing!
A favor, Brill… could you email me and tell me a bit about SOS?
GF
I don’t really know what a meme is. Ignorance is bliss.
I am SO sorry to hear about the baby being ill, and so HAPPY to hear he is recovered! What a scare!
Hurrah, the house sold. I hope all goes well with the move. Remember to keep breathing.
I don’t mind memes, and sometimes I like having something specific to write, but I need a break as well.

Way to be a whistle-blower.
I’m so sorry to hear about your baby, but relieved he’s all better now. My DS, who’s now 14, went through a similar thing at a similar age - scary! Good luck with your move and when this is all over, REST if you can!
hair! Drama! Boys! Friends!…..awww highschool.
1. That is good to know. I used blue on my blog, but it was a fluke, going with my name.
2. Wonderful he is doing good again. Our 3rd daughter at 6 years, was sick on and off for a month, we went on a short trip and she got really sick. She was in bed for a day when we got back, then I noticed she had a rash; I knew she was septic and we took her to the hospital. They hooked her to IV at about 8 pm and she finally peed at 11 am the next day and we were able to go home. It took her a month or two to fully recover. She is 12 now and normal so it all worked out but I felt bad I didn’t take her to the Dr. sooner.
3. I read some of them. They were great. What a great idea.
Have fun moving, it is really exciting when you finally get to the new place, and the old place is no longer your concern.
