Moving Week
My blogging this week will be sporatic at best. One week from today we will move into our new home! But with four little ones and a billion tasks to complete before the big day, I’m not likely to be seen around these parts for a bit. I will definitely check in for Scooby’s Birthday to post (as is my tradition) his birth story and of course I’ll keep up on my latest Soap Opera Sunday series, and I may pop in if I have something BRILLIANT to say (and by “brilliant” I mean “mediocre”) but otherwise I will likely be quite unheard from until I get established.
But! Do you realize that in a week I will have a wireless internet connection, instead of the dial-up that I’ve been using here? I’ll be able to watch videos and hear soundbites!!!! I will no longer tie up the phone lines while I’m blogging! And my dear little laptop will come out of hiding too!
And I’ll have TV back. Not just any TV, but my Dad’s massive wall-size TV with uber-cable, as opposed to the 19-inch antenna TV with crappy reception that I’ve had here!
I will have SPACE! Room to put my STUFF, instead of piling everything on the couch, floor, tables, bed…
I will have my own KITCHEN! A place where I can cook and clean and not constantly feel like I’m in someone else’s way!
And, as much as I love her (and I really do) I won’t be living with my MOTHER-IN-LAW anymore!!!!!!!
Yeah, moving is good, even if it’s a big fat pain!

Totally understand. I’m so excited for you to finally be able to stretch out and relax a little (in front of a giant TV with cable, no less!). And for you to have better internet access, too! (Seriously, Chesca’s vid was so cute!)
Just remember to come say ‘hi’ to me a couple times or I’ll have a nervous breakdown. (you know how insecure I get)
Good on you, Brill!
“Enjoy” the move, and be careful!
GF
Wow, big move! Good luck. I hate moving and I’ve never had to move with children, so all the best luck to you for a stress-free (at least as stress free as possible) move.
Great big YAHOO on the high speed wireless. I honestly don’t know what I would do without it anymore.
You make moving sound great!
I hate moving, too - but it’s always so worth it in the end! I’m so excited for you guys, this sounds like it was truly the right thing for your family. Good luck with getting everything moved in and settled, I don’t doubt that you’ll have that place feeling just like home in no time!
Wait a minute! You don’t like living with your mother-in-law?
I think it’s brilliant to focus on all the joys of this move, instead of the hassle itself. Reading that post, I feel all giddy and excited for you!
Last year we moved from a teeny-tiny two bedroom apartment to a huuuuge three bedroom house, with finished basement, deck, and enormous backyard.
The light at the end of the tunnel is saaahweeeet!
Towards Thursday, keep repeating-
“This is worth it, this is worth it, this is worth it…”
Have fun! And by fun, I mean don’t pull your hair out and have a complete breakdown.
Hooray!! Your home will once again be YOUR home! I wish I could warm your new place with a bottle of wine or a nice potted plant, but I’m too far away.
Happy moving!
You know, if I was near, I would be there helping you do the myriad little things that will need doing before the BIG move.
See you when we see you! And high speed at that. Should be marvy.
SO excited for you! If I were there, I’d bring you one of my patent-pending casseroles. Good luck!
How exciting! I know you are counting the minutes until you have a pad that you can fully enjoy and run around naked in if you want.
I’m kind of with Butrfly, come say hi at least every couple of days or I’ll get paranoid too. Ask her … When I didn’t see her around for like 3 days I freaked and sent her an email to see if she was ok.
Congratulations on your move! I’m working on a move now myself. It’s going to be hectic though.
good luck with the move - the process is so very painful (especially with four little kids) but the end reults are worth it - especially when you’re moving to a bigger, better house.
I LOVE that kind of bizarre slightly lost feeling of waking up in a new house.
Is your mother-in-law going to miss you all?
Good luck with your move–Its nice to have a place to call your own! I’m very happy for you.
Can I move in with you too?
This is all so very wonderful. Do be careful not to overdo won’t you? We shall miss you. I know what you mean, I love my wireless and I don’t think I could stay here without it. I shall look forward to hearing all about the move and you all settling in.
Too bad you live so far away. One of my favorite things is packing up a kitchen. I know, weird, huh?
How wonderful for you! Enjoy your move and the fun of settling in to a new home. I just love arranging furniture in a new home (I’m weird that way).
Keep us posted when you can!
ooh how exciting! good luck with the big move!
Brill! I’m so mad that I didn’t get to see you while I was in Utah!
Sounds lovely…wait for me. I’m coming too!
YAY! Good luck with the big move.
Remember all the bits and tell us all when you’re settled.
Good Luck and stay sane!
Hope the move goes smoothly. Well, as smooth as it gets with 4 babes!! Hey I am a big fan of Kristi Noser too! She lives in my town and I am blessed to see her twice and sometimes thrice a week! WhoooHooo!
YEA! Congrats on the big move! I am so happy that you are going to be able to stretch those legs out and enjoy your living space.
Good luck! I must admit - I am not envious…I hate moving.
yeah for more room.
What a relief to go to high speed and have your things about you.
Boxes really get old.
Well thank goodness the Soap Opera Sundays will continue!
Good luck with the move.
I SO understand how busy moving with lil’ ones can be…we’re still trying to get everything done on our house so that we might be able to list is in the next few weeks. But the boys make it difficult!
