I Think I’ll Link You
(To preface this remarkably bizarre post, I feel that I need to tell you that three years ago, I went with my sisters to a David Cassidy concert. It was quite possibly the weirdest thing I’ve ever done. At 25 years old, I was decades younger than anyone else in the audience, and certainly the only person dressed like I was at a concert. It was SO funny. But it was also a blast. And for some reason, it made a deep impact on who I am today. Okay, not at all… But still. Dear David has lingered with me…)
The following song is based on, nay, INSPIRED by David Cassidy’s “I Think I Love You.”
(Dedicated to my newly updated blogroll…)
Blog, blog, blog, blog,
Blog-blog, blog, blog, blog,
Blog, blog-blog, blog, blooooooggggg
I’m blogging
And right in the middle of a good post
Like all at once I read up
On someone that leaves comments on my site.
With all my heart and might I set my fingers on the keys,
I’ll try not to feel the squeeze
As I type out words like these:
“I think I’ll link you!”
This blogroll
Is getting long and lengthy
I didn’t know how to deal with
And so I just decided to myself
I’d put limits on myself and never link another
And didn’t I go and write it
When I typed your URL.
“I think I’ll link you!”
I think I’ll link you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I’m afraid that I’m not sure of
A blogroll there’s no room for.
I think I’ll link you.
Isn’t that what blogs are made of?
Though it worries me to see
That you haven’t yet linked me!
I don’t know where to comment next.
I don’t know who to learn about.
I got so much to blog about.
Hey!!!!!!!
I think I’ll link you.
So what am I so afraid of?
I’m afraid that I’m not sure of
A blogroll there’s no room for.
I think I’ll link you.
Isn’t that what blogs are made of?
Though it worries me to see
You haven’t yet linked me!
Believe me,
You really don’t have to tag me.
I only want to read your MEME
And if you say,
“Hey, go away,” I will, but I think better still
I’d better comment and not lurk you.
Will you offer me some hope?
Of getting linked on your blogroll?
Do you think you’ll link me?
I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
Oh, I think I’ll link you.
(Point is, there are a lot of newly added blogs in my blogroll. Go check them out! And if, peradventure, I missed you… it was inadvertant. I’ve been going through my bookmarks and my comments, etc. but I do have mommy-brain after all. Please don’t hesitate to point out the lack of your link. If you’re too shy to say it in my comments, email me. Or tell your friends to email me. Or something. Or just be offended and never come back. NO! I’m KIDDING!! Don’t do that!!! Holy crap, this is a long parenthetical. Time to quite. And now I’m done. Bye.)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHA
ahem
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
Um, well, I guess I’ll be the one to break it to you. You’re CRAZY! (but in a very good way). Oh, and I love what you’ve done with the site, by the way!
Shocking face that was to see, after all these years! My sister had a HUGE crush on the cutie pie, so I saw many a version of that face adorning her walls. From Tiger Beat magazine.
I liked him alright.
But I love your version of his song.
I mean, uh, I link your version of his song!
Link you!
hysterical and also, so industrious!
Alrighty then. Nice …lyrics? Very original, and I agree with the post above, very industrious!
Nice blog, glad I came over. Those are gorgeous babies!
That’s is the best David Cassidy song you’ve ever written.
HAHAH
You’re so funny!!!!
WHO else would think of that?
How cute was David Cassidy?
Cute song.
I like your lyrics! Thanks for linking to me!
Kateastrophe,
Wo there, girl. Breathe. Breathe, I say!
Jenny,
Well, thanks for breaking it me so gently, though.
C-Teri,
I link you too, hon. I link you too.
Karen,
Industrious? ME???
Lady Macleod
Well, thanks! I’ve been enjoying your blog too. Thanks for stopping in!
Super Des,
Well, yes. There’s definitely some truth to that. It’s also quite possibly the WORST David Cassidy song I’ve ever written, though, too…
Butrfly,
So glad you enjoyed it.
Janet,
Cute indeed. You can just print out the picture of him and put it on your wall… I’m sure your hubby won’t see anything strange about that.
Lisa,
Of course I linked you! I read your blog faithfully every day!!
That is AWESOME. Also, I have this same problem. I started my blogroll early on with the goal of keeping it brief, and now I read about 70 blogs and don’t know who to add. So I add no one, I let it stagnate, and then that’s worse. So I fret.
This is so freakin’ funny! I love it.
HA HA HA HA HA HA
Love it.
And I secretly love that song.
That was great, Brill… I think I love you!
Like this, and the restaurant story with the gift certificate - haven’t had a chance to go through the whole thing, but I swear on every one of David Cassidy’s hairs that I will.
i’m a sean cassidy man myself.
Very Cute!
OMG, I’d forgotten how I sooooo loved David Cassidy. In current teenage-speak, he was so uncool-cool at school - but we all loved him secretly!
Great blog and site.
Oh, David. My heart throbs and your song rocks! I shall hum it all day.

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I’m linked.
That’s why I don’t hav a blogroll! I love clicking on everyone else’s though!
So funny! This made my Monday Morning!
You are too funny! Very clever! Thanks for the link! Us newbies have to stick together.
Okay!!! It’s a conspiracy!!!! I post about updating my blog roll, and suddenly a bunch of new people comment!!! HOW’S A GIRL TO KEEP UP??? Hahahaha.
–And, of course, what I meant by all of that is:
Lady Mcleod, Omega Mum, Andres Carl Sena, debio, Carla, and Casmee,
WELCOME!!! Thanks for stopping by!
That was just so awesome. But now I’ll have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day!
Freaking hilarious! I think you have a future in songwriting!
And I had to give up my blogroll for Google reader, they both make me feel immense guilt that I’m forgetting to highlight someone.
One word: genius.
That is the funniest thing I’ve read all day. I love the blog blog blog-blog part. Hilarious!
Interesting that the picture you have on yuour blog is the exact one I had hanging in my bedroom when I was 15. The lips were much more rubbed off on mine however…
Now that was a creative post! I am not to shy to try and get added to your blogroll… www.goldyworld.com
Thanks B!
Hilarious and thanks for the link!
You’re going to make me pee my pants here!
I didn’t have a blogroll for the longest time because I couldn’t figure out how to make one. Now I have a teeny one, but it needs to be updated. I can see how this will become problematic.
How do you put your blog roll on a separate page, anyway?
You really should have been a lyricist for David Cassidy - it could have launched his career (you’re so doggone funny)
That concert changed my life
My favorite part, though, was when we got to go to the “VIP” party and meet David in person (he’s so short) and we got to tell him that we were SISTERS, and he didn’t believe us at first…the best part was when I told him I was a freak of nature, so that he could see we were sisters…
The other favorite part was, during the concert, he complained about how hard his life was on stage, what a poor victim he was - ah, that’s what fame does for you. wahahahahaha
I subscribe to you via bloglines/rss feed but I don’t have a blogroll on my site, so how were you to know? I hope you haven’t been losing sleep over it, because, “I know I love You!”
I love it, and thought the new lyrics were great. Have you done this to any other of the Partridge Family songs, perhaps you should give this to David and he can then put them to music - just an idea.
Laura
This was great! I loved it! I am a long time David Cassidy fan. You should try to go to another concert. Always a good time! And by the way, the pic you posted is my all time favorite. I use it as my desk top.
Laura Haffner
Yeah it’s favourite picture as well. I know I’ve already commented on the words to ITILY, but I’ve just gone through them again and I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I was near to tears I was laughing so much.
I absolutely love the lyrics! Maybe one day Mr C himself will ask you to write some songs!
LOL
